TALENTED DOG

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that bring joy and happiness. I’m fortunate to live in a place surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for walking my dog every day. I always try and be in the moment appreciating nature, listening to birdsong, smelling the petrichor, however recently I’ve been more contemplative and preoccupied having sadly lost my mum a few weeks ago. Teamed with trying to second guess why a casting I went for last week didn’t go my way, I nearly missed seeing a felled tree that resembled the face of a dog.  As I took a photograph of it, Monty peeped his head into the shot. This perfectly captured picture put a huge smile on my face.

  1. Hello Ruby,

I hope you don't mind me reaching out like this. I was wondering what would be the best route to forward a screenplay to you for your consideration. I am trying to produce a film but am a total beginner & finding the whole process to be very haphazard. It is a comedy/drama, set in Wales (around Llanrwst & Llyn Crafnant) & it has what I hope to be relevance concerning both environmental & sociological issues. I would very much like to use Welsh talent throughout the production & am in the process of contacting actors & actresses (I've written it with Rhys Ifans & his brother Llyr in mind particularly). Right now I am just starting out & trying to do everything; finding funding, locations, talent etc. I wanted to present the lead female role to you & hear your thoughts on it, if possible. I realise this could well be quite premature, but I'm following Martin Scorcese's advise of doing what you can to bring a film project to life. :)

I love the photo above, by the way, which is why I've commented on this older post & not a more recent one. There's a dog in my story too, called Quentin, which makes me wonder, how are Monty's acting chops? ;)

Thanks for taking the time out to read this. I do hope your novel is taking shape nicely.

    Warmest regards,

    Sheldon Ireland.
